You know what’s the best? Having awesome clients. I get so lucky with the brides I get to work with. The Rhodes Wedding was one of those days where everyone just got it and had the best perspective. Sure there were tons of beautiful decorations and everyone was dressed to the nines and everything looked nice, but the day was far from “look how beautiful our wedding looks,” but rather “welcome to this next and huge chapter in our love story.” It’s extremely evident that Jessica and Taylor allowed God to be the author of their love story. From dating previously to breaking up for a few years and allowing Him to bring them back together, their wedding day was certainly a cause for celebration. It was a joy to be able to document it all!
We started out the day at Jessica’s parents house, a beautiful home in the Lake Hollingsworth neighborhood. I LOVE when my brides choose to get ready at their home or an AirBnB. It puts such a unique spin on their getting ready photos. This was especially personal because it was the home of Jessica’s parents. Also, a week later Hurricane Irma hit central Florida. I got a text from Jessica after the storm telling me the backyard of her parents home was a mess and she was so glad we got ready at their house and took pictures in the backyard. I was heartbroken to hear about the condition of the yard, but so glad we make the decision to do photos there! Plus, the house decor totally matched the look and feel of the entire Rhodes Wedding! *swoon*
All the details of this day were so romantic. From Jessica’s David’s Bridal gown to the guys in their Calvin Klein black tuxes, to all the beautiful florals and event design done by the amazing Ashton Events. I was obsessed with the color palette for the day as well. Deep greens and reds are totally my jam and paired perfectly with the romantic settings of First Presbyterian Church and the Sorosis Building. The ceremony was one to remember, with lots of involvement of family! Plus, First Pres is the church where Jessica grew up at so that was extra special for the Stone fam! The reception was a total blast! Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal catered by Swan City Catering and indulged on cake baked by Publix. Later on Corry Barron brought the jams with his expert DJing! At the end of the night Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes ran threw a tunnel of sparklers and climbed into the cutest vintage get-away car to drive away into the future together! Seriously guys, so romantic, every bit of the day. Thank you Jessica and Taylor for allowing me to document your wedding day! It was certainly special and one to remember. Here is a snapshot of the Rhodes Wedding! 🙂
