I’ve been talking a lot about the weather, mostly because it’s been quite a topic of discussion if you live in Lakeland! Last month our little town experienced almost 16 inches of rain seeing a rainfall happen almost everyday for three straight weeks (and it doesn’t look like the pattern is going to change much!) With this being said, my engagement shoot with Shane and Haley was suppose to happen on the very first day Lakeland saw heavy rain last month. Thankfully these two are ridiculously laid back and didn’t mind rescheduling to a drier day. I’m so glad we waited to shoot because we had just the right amount of sunshine the day of their shoot!

Haley told me the theme of her wedding day was going to be garden boho, so with that being said Hollis Gardens was the perfect place to reflect Haley’s theme! Even though everyone shoots at Hollis Gardens, it’s easy to remember why once you’re there. It’s such a lovely, well-kept garden with a wide variety of plant life right in the middle of our downtown. We are lucky to have it! Especially with it hugging the shores of Lake Mirror, the heart of our downtown landscape. You really can’t go wrong using it as your backdrop. We also made our way over to Haus 820, the future reception site for Haley and Shane! The pair were excited to use the famous Mass Market Color Wall and the cool mural painted on the garage door there. I love photographing with the colored wall! It’s seriously a blast coming up with angles and ways to get creative with all the bright colors. 🙂

I’ve known Haley since middle school and can’t say I’ve had the pleasure of running into her since we graduated from high school! Needless to say it was wonderful to see her and hear about what’s new in her and Shane’s life. Fun fact: Haley and Shane have been together for nine years! How about that?! I’m sure they’re eager to finally be husband and wife and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding day early 2019! For now, here’s a snapshot of their engagement shoot!
