It was a great day for a summer wedding especially with a crew like this one! I seem to luck out and get brides who aren’t all about the thrills and the fuss of just their wedding day, but rather excited just to spend a day in celebration of love with the people they love the most! That’s exactly what this day was all about. I met Kayla and David back in April when we met up at Oxford Exchange in Tampa. Even through our conversation about their wedding day and what they had planned so far I could just tell that they loved their people well. And after photographing their wedding day I can confidently say their friends and family love them wholeheartedly as well. Whether it was David’s friends wanting take a bunch of goofy photos with him or if it was Kayla’s bridesmaids genuinely oohing and ahhing over how stunning she looked their people were 100% right there in their corner with them on their wedding day.

The other part I loved about the O’Donnell / Rodriguez wedding was how enamored David was with Kayla. You know every groom of course thinks his bride looks beautiful, but David would take it a step further by pointing out specific things about Kayla he thought looked beautiful that day. He thought her dress was amazing and specifically loved her rhinestone straps and kept complimenting her hair and her sparkly shoes. It was really so freakin’ sweet to hear him go on about how beautiful he thought Kayla looked as a bride.

Going back to how loved these two are… Kayla’s mom is a rockstar. She too joined us at Oxford Exchange many months ago and she was determined to put together the best day for her daughter. It was touching to me to witness this because it reminded me of my own mom. My mom was hellbent on making sure things were accomplished and looked exactly the way I always dreamed they would. Lets here it for awesome moms everyone! Robyn (Kayla’s mom) and her friends did an amazing job of transforming the CL Space into the wedding reception of Kayla’s dreams. The hand arranged not just the centerpieces on every table, but the bouquets Kayla and her bridesmaids carried as well! Everything looked so beautiful!

If I may brag on one vendor from this wedding I have to rave about Latin Grill catering for a moment. I would just like to take a moment to ask from here on out if every wedding reception I photograph could have Cuban food for dinner? That would be amazing. And more specifically, can it be from Latin Grill. I think it might be the best reception dinner I’ve ever had while working. Good choice Kayla and David!
