Hello world, meet baby Leighton! Now in full transparency, we did this shoot February 1st so while miss Leighton is still a baby, she is certainly not a “newborn” anymore! *Palms forehead in embarrassment for how long it takes me to blog things.*

Nevertheless, I wanted to blog this newborn session because the Grignon fam have been some of my most favorite clients I’ve had over the years. They are what I call Legacy Clients since I’ve photographed Sara and Hunter’s engagement session, wedding, Christmas card photos and maternity session before doing a newborn shoot with the newest addition to their sweet family. One of my all-time favorite parts about being a photographer is when couples not only trust me to document their wedding day, but also other milestone moments in their lives as they grown their family. It seriously is such a great honor that warms my heart to a zillion degrees.

On slow February morning, a few weeks after Leighton was born, I headed over to Hunter and Sara’s place to document this beautiful moment in their lives. Leighton was absolutely precious and did so good during her session, you could tell even then how much she already loved her mom and dad. And to no surprise, mom and dad were incredibly smitten with Leighton! I also go to meet their dog, Mellie, for the first time, too! I love when pets are part of newborn sessions. They’re part of the family too after all and just gained a new sibling. It truly think there is a curiosity in cats and dogs when a new baby has entered their household. Mellie was so patient and sweet throughout the whole shoot and is going to be the best furry big sis to Leighton!
