I love when I have clients who stick with me through all my stages, and the Harvey family is DEFINITELY one of those clients. In fact, the Harveys were one of my very first clients. Back in 2012 Casey and her big sis Brittnie did a sister shoot with me. It was one of my very first shoots for a client. Not sure if the Harveys new it, but them booking me in 2012 and believing I could produce photos they could treasure has sent not just ripples, but waves over the past five years. Friday, when I went over to the Harvey’s house before my shoot with Casey, Janice (Casey’s mom) showed me a giant canvas of their pup, Dixie in their “Dixie room” from the shoot in 2012. I was touched in that moment and my mind was flooded with memories. I look back on those photos from that shoot and I honestly laugh because, they really aren’t that great!! That’s the beauty of learning though and I love being able to see how much I have grown in my skills in the past 5 years. Oh how I am thankful! Also, I’m thankful that the Harveys have been calling on me for photos over the past five years. I’ve done family photos for them and even did Casey’s senior photos from high school!
Here we are in 2017 and this blonde beauty is now graduating from COLLEGE. Where has the time gone? Casey is graduating from Florida Southern with an education degree, but wait not only is she graduating, she’s already employed. Yeah, that’s right Casey is amazing at what she does. Over this past semester Casey has been in the classrooms at McKeel Elementary. About a month ago one of McKeel’s teachers made the decision to not return to teaching from her maternity leave. Who better could the McKeel Administration turn to than Casey Harvey. So while a lot college grads spend the first few months after graduation job hunting, Casey can say she’s already been enriching the minds of children in the classroom. Seriously impressive, way to go Casey!
I loved getting to capture another moment in Casey’s life last week by taking her college senior portraits. Before her shoot, we had the amazingly talented and my dear friend Kaitlin Laing of A Cherished Bride come over. She did an AMAZING job on Casey’s hair and makeup she looked flawless! And although we basically melted away in the hot Florida sun we still had a great time shooting on Florida Southern’s beautiful campus. Where else would we do our shoot than Casey’s soon to be alma mater! Here’s some of my favorites!
