Another shoot, another story that centers around the weather… lol. The weather is often a topic of discussion for many – which is comical if you live in Florida because it’s the same for large parts of the year. Hot, hot, hot and RAIN! This indeed was the case for Zack + Abby’s engagement shoot. We had the reschedule THREE times thanks to hefty dumpings of rain over Lakeland.

Last week we were finally able to make it happen and it was wonderful! Sure we were sweating our booties off, but the sunshine was perfect and Zack and Abby were so fun to explore Downtown Lakeland with! I’ve known Abby for a really long time! We both go to the same church and have been on many, many youth trips together. I haven’t known Zack quite as long, but a few things I have learned about Zack is that he’s a good dude, he makes Abby laugh a lot and his mom kicks my butt on a weekly basis at the Body Pump class I go to at the Y haha. Small world! But that’s Lakeland for you.

If we’re being honest, sometimes I don’t want to use downtown Lakeland as the backdrop of my shoots, but really its so dang cute!! Lakeland has a really nice and well-kept downtown in my humble option with the beautiful Lake Mirror as it’s center and main attraction. I enjoyed not only using the lake area for the shoot, but also all the nooks and crannies of an alleyway and the narrow streets as well 🙂

I’m really happy for Abby and Zack, they seem like such a perfect pair and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this upcoming April. I love me a good spring color palette and from what Abby and her mom Sabra have told me as far as their plans go – it’s going to be so pretty!!
